STATE ASSESSMENTS

Description

State assessments are evaluations required by the No Child Left Behind Act, designed to measure both student performance and school accountability. These assessments serve as a means to ensure that students meet certain academic standards set by local and state educational authorities. Administered at the state level, these tests aim to assess how well students are progressing in their education relative to established benchmarks. Through these evaluations, educational stakeholders can gauge the effectiveness of school systems and identify areas needing improvement, thereby fostering an environment of accountability within the educational framework.

  • NAEP — State assessments are separate from but often compared to NAEP to provide a broader perspective on student achievement
